Does my file really stay on my computer?
Yes. Localine reads and redacts the document inside your browser. The easiest check is to switch your internet off after signing in — it keeps working.
What is my account used for?
Only for your licence. It is not used to keep a record of the documents you process.
Can removed text be recovered?
No. The flagged words are taken out of the file you save, rather than covered up, so they are not in the output to recover.
Can I use it for GDPR or HIPAA work?
Localine is designed for that kind of work: it removes personal data locally, without sending it to a third party. It does not issue a compliance certificate, so it fits inside your own compliance process rather than replacing it.
